In the Peace Pagoda Darjeeling there are four avatars of Buddha including the Maitreya Buddha. The house is a two storied white building built in a traditional japanese design by M. Ohka. The pagoda is situated on the slopes of Jalapahar hills.The height of the pagoda is 28.5 metres (94 feet) and diameter is 23 metres (75 feet).

There are two gold colored lions; made of concrete placed on the lower section in the both sides of the stairs. The outside view from the Peace Pagoda Darjeeling is mind blowing. There are rows of pine trees around the pagoda and just below the pagoda there is a japanese temple. The temple is situated just below the pagoda .After entering the main gate there are few entrance stairs that ends up to the temple, inside the temple there is a picture of founder Nichidatsu Fujii . The whole place of Japanese Temple is decorated in a Buddhist tradition. There is a large prayer room. In the prayer room the present chief of the temple continuously played drums . They offer the visitors and devotees to sit and play small drums. They also provide small sweets for their visitors. The outside view of the temple is stunning .
