Chapora Fort is an ancient fort located on the northern side of the state of Goa, India. It is located near the Chapora River and located at a distance of 700 meters from the beautiful Vagator Beach. It is a historical place. The surrounding makes this fort more attractive. This is also known as the “Dil Chahta Hai” fort. The cause of this is, a famous Bollywood movie named Dil Chahta Hai has shot here in 2001. After the movie, this fort became more popular.

Brief History behind:

 It has changed hands after the Portuguese acquired Bardez. To end Portuguese rule in Goa, Akbar joined his father’s enemies in 1683 and made this fort a base camp. The present structure of this fort was built in 1717.

This fort is in a position that commands views in all directions and that is amazing. This fort has a steep slope on all sides. The forms of the irregular outer wall that uses the natural for to add the defensive height to the fortifications.
