Brindavan Gardens 

Created: started in the year 1927 and completed in 1932. 

One of the most visited tourist attractions is the famous Brindavan Garden, located under the Krishnaraja Sagara Dam on the other side of the Kaveri River, which is famous for its illuminated dance fountains and is located in the Mandya district of Karnataka, 19 km from the town of Mysore.

Sir Mirza Ismail was the first planner of the gardens and the work has been going on for 5 years. He is the original founder of the Brindavan Gardens. 

What is the History of Brindavan Gardens? 

The origin of these so-called Brindavan Gardens is in the Krishnaraja Sagara Dam in Srirangapatna Taluka, under the Mandya district of Karnataka state. It is known that its construction work started in 1926 and ended in 1932. Then Sir Mirza Ismail wanted to enhance the beauty of the region so he had this plan.

He planned all the gardens. It took him 5 years to complete the Dam. The work was completed in 1932 and the Dam was opened to the public. The design of the gardens has been inspired by Bangalore’s Lalbagh Botanical Garden and Kashmir’s Shalimar Bagh, although the map is signed in the ancient Mughal style. Sir Mirza Ismail is the original founder of the garden, which is now managed and preserved by the Kaveri Irrigation Project.
