Famous for: Many famous poets and sages were born here. Notable among the poets are- Sri Sri, Gollapudi Maruti Rao, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Some religious places are also of great importance at present, most notably the Simhachalam Temple of Lord Narasimha and Sri Kanaka Maha Lakshmi Temple. In addition, a number of Buddhist temples, including archeological excavations, have become dominant tourist destinations. Notable among these are Boudharamam, Saligudam, Sankaram and Devipuram etc.
