About Raipur

Raipur is the capital city of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Raipur is also the administrative headquarters of Raipur District and Raipur Division. It is also the largest city in the state. The ancient “Dudhadhari Math” temple is in the center of this city. It is a sacred monument, which is dedicated to Lord Rama. It is decorated with scenes from the epic “Ramayana”. Nearby, a statue of the Hindu monk “Swami Vivekananda” is erected on top of “Vivekananda Sarovar Lake”. Ghatarani Waterfalls

Ghatarani Falls is located 85 km from Raipur city. It is the largest waterfalls in the state of Chhattisgarh. Surrounded by lush greenery, this place is a popular picnic spot. It is also a popular picnic spot for your weekly vacation with friends and family. A short trek through a forest will take you to this beautiful natural beauty. Below the waterfall is a naturally formed pool. You can enjoy swimming here & you can go crazy with your friends or family. Although the waterfall is filled with water during the rainy season and decorates itself naturally. But due to slippery area and mud, it is very difficult to move. That is why it is better to avoid going at this time.

Purkhouti Muktangan

Put your gadgets away for a day and take a walk in the beautiful park “Purkhouti Muktangan”. The park reflects the rich culture of Chhattisgarh. The place was inaugurated by Hon’ble APJ Abdul Kalam in November 2006. Since then the garden has been a place that attracts tourists and locals alike. The park is always open to keep a record of folk art, tribal personalities like life, vivid scenes in your beautiful experience. The garden is not only attractive to visitors, it also spreads our cultural awareness about the preservation of our bio-cultural diversity.

Nandan Van Zoo is located in Naya Raipur. It is one of the most famous sights in the city. The primary goal of this zoo is to protect and preserve the animals. There are different species of animals here. A perfect place to spend the day with the kids, including jungle safaris and boat rides. It is interesting to watch the animals wander around the jungle. It also gives an exposure to many species which are not very popular and on the verge of extinction. Also, the zoo tries its best to entertain you as much as possible.

Gandhi Udyan Park

Gandhi Udyan Park is located in the heart of Raipur city. It extends to the famous Bhagat Singh Chowk. The park is covered with lots of natural vegetation and the walkway is beautifully tiled. There is also a beautiful playground where yoga classes are held very early in the morning. This is a great place for a morning or evening walk. The park is well-maintained and attracts a lot of people in the vicinity very easily. The park has a more pleasant environment during sunrise and sunset. MM Fun City

MM Fun City is a delightful destination for those who want to immerse themselves in unlimited fun and entertainment. By Road: Raipur has well-connectivity by bus to major cities in the state and all over India. There are buses for major cities of different states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. The cities also have some bus services from Raipur within the state include Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Durg, Bhilai and Bilaspur.

By Train: The “Raipur Railway Station” is one of the major junctions for the state. The railway station is under the Raipur division and under South East Central Railway Zone. After reaching this railway station, you can easily hire a taxi or cab to reach your preferred destination or the city centre.

By Air: Raipur has no airport by its own. The nearest airport is “Swami Vivekananda International Airport”, formerly known as “Mana Airport”, is located in Mana village. It is located 15 km to the south from Raipur between the old city and the new city of Raipur. You can easily hire a taxi or cab from the airport to reach your preferred destination.
