  • Charminar

The Charminar was built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah. It was built to commemorate the founding of Hyderabad and to protect against a deadly epidemic in the Golconda region. There are four minarets about 40 feet high and for these four minarets it is named “Charminar (Four Minarets)”. It is a mosque and one of the most famous places of worship in Hyderabad. These four minarets are the epic signature of the city. This makes for a great philosophy. This popular installation is located in the heart of the old city of Hyderabad, surrounded by the Mecca Mosque. Built using bricks from Mecca and Lad Bazaar – a vibrant shopping street, this landmark of history.

  • Golconda Fort

This medieval castle now stands tall in the heart of the city.  Golconda is one of the oldest and most historic places in Hyderabad. It’s basically like a 400-foot hill that’s built in mud.  Observation of the ruins of today’s fort shows that there were several dynasties at one time. It is located 11 km from the catastrophic urbanism of Hyderabad. Monuments to the well-planned Golconda town on the boundary of the fort are still clearly evident & it derives its name from a Telugu word meaning Shepherd’s Hill. Multiple castle levels, armories, magazines, mosques, granaries, reservoirs, audience rooms and royal residences complement the attractive appearance of the castle.

It is famous for its acoustics or one kind of phonology. A unique signaling device that was included in its construction. The structure is known for its palace, invented water supply system and the famous Fateh Rahben. A cannon used by Aurangzeb in the last siege of Golconda is visible here. The Sound and Light event brought to life the arrogance of one of India’s most famous forts.

  • Birla Mandir (Temple)

The Birla Temple is located at the southern end of Hussain Sagar Lake. The Birla temple is an enchanted temple built on two hills of Nawbat hill, Kala hill. With a mixed architectural style of Odisha and South India, the place of worship is adorned with colorful epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata which are exquisitely sculpted in marble. There is also an 11 sq ft long replica of Tirupati Venkateswara in the inner shrine of the temple. The ‘Mukha Mandapam’ adjacent to the temple has a number of marble carvings depicting Indian mythology. The temple has various consorts of Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal. In addition to these, there is a separate shrine dedicated to the Buddha.

  • Hussain Sagar Lake

Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in India. It has been beautifying both Hyderabad and Secunderabad since 1562.
